This document outlines the NBN's strategy for the ten years, from 2010 - 2020. Building on the successful beginning, this document sets out a bold strategy for the next ten years. The challenge is to increase the use of biological records through improving their quality and the flow of data through the system, whilst maintaining and improving the underlying recording and data access infrastructure. 2011 - 2012
"The NBN has developed successfully over recent years despite the adverse financial climate in which it has had to operate. This is a mark of the commitment of its members, and of its excellent staff, led so skilfully and with such dedication by Jim Munford. I would like to pay tribute to Jim for all that he has done during my time as Chairman, and to wish my successor, Michael Hassell, and the NBN Trust every possible success for the future."

2010 - 2011
"The past year has been exceptionally important and busy for the NBN. On the one hand, the NBN has ambitious plans to increase its impact and usefulness; on the other it is operating in a very demanding financial environment. On top of this, there has of course been a change in Government and this has led to changes in Government policy priorities. Despite these external factors, it is a pleasure to report that the NBN has had a very successful year, as you will see from this Annual Report."

2009 - 2010
"This is the first year that the Annual Report has been produced in electronic format only. This is part of our review, earlier in the year, of the format of the publications we produce. The Report focuses on how the NBN is being used.
"In our tenth year, I suppose the most obvious sign of the progress we have made comes from the 50 million plus records that can now be viewed on the NBN Gateway"

2007 - 2008
"This year has seen some exceptional highs and lows. John Burnett and Jeff Watson will be sorely missed, but they helped lay the foundations of a National Biodiversity Network that continues to grow at an astounding rate.
