Conservation Evidence, Informing Decision Making

Location:
FSC Preston Montford, Shrewsbury
Starts:
Tuesday 28 October 2014,

The British Ecological Society and the Field Studies Council are pleased to announce a one-day symposium on conservation evidence, it’s generation and use. The event will bring together field recorders, conservationists, landscape managers and researchers to explore the generation and use of conservation evidence now and going forward into the 21st century.

Cambridge University’s Professor Bill Sutherland – President of the British Ecological Society – will give the keynote address. Professor David Gowing will present a case study from his experience with floodplain meadows and Professor Ian Trueman will take delegates on a tour of a meadow creation project being undertaken at the FSC’s Preston Montford field centre. Other speakers will contribute and there will be plenty of opportunities for interaction and discussion.

Grant support from the British Ecological Society has enabled us to keep the costs of this symposium down to £33 – representing outstanding value for an event of this kind. For those wishing to spend a night in Shropshire, either before or after the event, Preston Montford Field Centre is able to offer board.
